One of the bright spots of the Belguim muaythai is definitely the young talent Gianny De Leu who made a sensation at the EMF Antalya Cup in 2018 winning 5 bouts in a KO. It was when his name became famous and the promotors of different muaythai galas started to search for him in the rosters for IFMA events.

Gianny’s record in the youth divison is 12 victories and 1 pity loss in a very close fight at the Youth World Championships 2018. It looked like he would steal the victory from his Thai opponent but a little was missing to become the finalist of the 2018 Youth Muaythai event.

One year later Gianny came to the same city where he added 5 KOs to his record, the city of Antalya for his last event as a youth athlete. It was his last chance to be the champion and he confidently won his rematch against Thailand. His final drew him with another talent from Latvia Arseniy Nikolaev but Gianny was unstoppable at this event winning his first and last gold medal of the youth world’s.

Next year Gianny will have a new challenge to take his place in the Elite division where he will not have a warm welcome from the current senior world champions.
